Took my preowned Mercedes to Anthony's for a simple inspection. They came back with a long list of things that needed to be fix, including a random oil leak and a even more random piece of rubber that they "found" under the hood. The repairs were made at the dealership and brought back to Anthony's. The unprofessional woman at the counter was rude and incompetent. We booked online but she has to record. The appointment was set for 11am, they did put the car on the rack till 4:38pm. Take your car there if you want your time wasted. Take your car there if you like being treated with disrespect. Take your car there if you want to waste money.
Ms. Jones, I certainly wish this was the case. First and foremost, I apologize that you feel like you were disrespected in any way. I would like to reach out to you regarding the unprofessional and incompetent woman at the counter and find out exactly what transpired. Our Maryland State Inspection process covers 100 safety points on your vehicle. Our process includes a Digital Vehicle Inspection with images to show you exactly what is happening with your vehicle. Your estimate had 3 things listed--the oil leak, the power steering leak, and the front axles. I am not sure what the long list is you are referencing but I would be happy to review it with you. The "random" piece of rubber was retrieved from the passenger side of the engine compartment and it looked to be remnants of a belt that had previously broken. Engine oil was running down your exhaust. Both front axles were spewing grease/lubricant from the inner boots. Upon picking up your vehicle on the initial inspection day last week, I physically showed the under-hood areas of concern to Mr. McKoy. Mr. McKoy made an appointment request online, over the weekend while we were closed and unable to confirm availability. When he arrived this morning, I personally informed him that it would be several hours before we could get to his vehicle and that it would be finished before we closed this evening. The repairs to the power steering system, front axles, and engine oil were performed by another person/facility and had to be re-inspected which has a re-inspection fee as stated on the initial inspection report. We pride ourselves on being welcoming, kind, informative and helpful. Again, I truly apologize that your experience did not leave you feeling this way. I sincerely hope you enjoy your new Mercedes. Thank you.
